The Lok Sabha election results show that in 72 Uttar Pradesh seats, the BJP received fewer votes in 2024 than it did in 2019.

The BJP not only experienced a significant decline in its vote share in Uttar Pradesh, dropping from 49.6% in 2019 to 41.4% this time around. In 72 out of the 75 constituencies where it competed in both elections, the number of votes it received also decreased, ranging from a few thousand to 220,000. Overall, the BJP garnered approximately 6.5 million fewer votes in UP this time, despite the total number of votes cast in the state increasing.
